Fo2oImaging – A Dynamic Photography Website
Welcome to the next installment in my series – Websites Built With WordPress! If you’re familiar with the amazing platform that is WordPress, then maybe you won’t be so amazed. But if you’re not, well, expect some shock and awe. Anyone, anyone, can create a blog or website using WordPress. And my WordPress tutorials will show you exactly how to do it.
The purpose of this series is to demonstrate the flexibility of WordPress. You can make a simple blog or a powerful business website.
Now, on to Fo2oImaging . . .
Today’s featured WordPress website is visually stunning. Not because of the design necessarily, but because of Seamus’s striking photography. The website is Fo2oImaging.
Seamus watched this WordPress tutorial on YouTube and went to work. He used a theme called Capture, which prominently displays images — perfect for photography. He added a nice touch to the home page with a plugin that creates a stunning masonry layout — SiteOrigin Masonry. It works best in combination with SiteOrigin’s Page Builder. It takes a little getting used to but the combination of the two plugins can create some beautiful art, as evidenced on Seamus’s website.
Check out Seamus’s homepage and you’ll see the masonry plugin and the site builder plugin at work. In combination with the beautiful photos, it presents a sumptuous feast for the eyes.
The photos are presented in galleries (click one of the photos in the masonry layout to see). The galleries are powered by Jetpack, probably the sweetest and most full-featured WordPress plugin ever to exist. Well, aside from W3 Total Cache, oh, and Yoast’s invaluable SEO plugin . . . I won’t say much more about Jetpack, but it provides current visitor statistics, has its own free CDN for images, a contact form, sharing buttons, an email subscription service, automatic posting to social media sites every time you write a post (like this one) . . . plus about 20 other features. I should make a video on the all-in-oneness that is Jetpack.
What I’m trying to say is — click the images, and check out the galleries. They’re stunning.
The simple colors of the theme and the uncluttered layout say one thing: this site is about the photography. And truly, the photography is what makes the site. Thank you Seamus, for allowing me to feature your WordPress site in my series – Websites Built With WordPress.
Free Support, as Always
As I say at the end of all my posts, I offer free support, especially for those who have purchased hosting from Inmotion and watched my videos.
I’ve been having a little trouble lately with people asking me question after question after question before they really try to solve a problem on their own. I don’t mind this, but as I get busier, it becomes more difficult to answer so many questions.
First, watch the tutorials. I always know when people haven’t watched the tutorials when they ask questions like, “How do I put an image in a post?” or something ridiculous like that. Watch the videos first. Then, when you run into a problem, try google. Experiment a little. 90% of the time you’ll figure it out for yourself.
But if you’re truly stuck and you need my help, I am very happy to help! Just shoot me an email.
